TRAINING PROGRAM
Training is an important component to the Arizona HIDTA mission. The Arizona HIDTA has a strong commitment to enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of Arizona Initiatives and drug law enforcement in Arizona through its training program. Training is provided on a wide variety of law enforcement, intelligence, and management subjects. The Arizona HIDTA’s Training Program coordinates effective and sought after training events to benefit all agencies in the Arizona region based on each Initiative’s training needs. The curriculum is focused on supporting investigators, intelligence analysts, and prosecutors in each phase of drug-related cases. Providing educational and technical assistance is corollary to the Arizona HIDTA’s emphasis on disrupting or dismantling drug trafficking and money laundering organizations.
TRAINING CENTER
The Arizona HIDTA Training Center is located on the Gila River Indian Reservation at the Wild Horse Pass Corporate Center, which is easily accessible from the I-10 with nearby restaurants, shopping, and local attractions. The Training Center was developed to provide the highest quality training and learning environment for students who are selected to attend. The Arizona HIDTA Director and Executive Board provide the oversight and governance for the Training Center. The Training Program is led and managed by the Training Coordinator, who works in partnership with the HIDTA Initiatives and participating law enforcement agencies. The Training Center is operational and available for use during normal business hours, Monday through Friday. Requests to use the facility outside normal business hours will be at the discretion of the Training Coordinator and Arizona HIDTA Director. First priority for scheduling of classes or other authorized activities will be given to members of HIDTA Initiatives and participating agencies. Other consideration will be given to other law enforcement agencies in Arizona. All requests to use the facility must be consistent with the HIDTA Program’s mission and goals.
